Men’s Monday Jan. 7, 2019

Last week I emphasized from Chuck’s message that God’s timing is absolutely perfect! This week, I took away another timing issue…the time is near. I ask again, do you agree with that? I do!!! I also know you do, but the question once again becomes who in your life doesn’t. “Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear, and who keep what is written in it, for the time is near.” The anecdote that brother Chuck shared at the end of yesterday’s sermon is the perfect example of how the devil is working in so many lives. So many are NOT paying attention to what is going on around them; so many are making choices that allows Satan to take up residence in their heart; so many are NOT aware that the time is near…a time where all they know will be gone in a flash. The next time you look at someone you know, someone who is not in a relationship with Jesus and, as they look back at you, remember, that you could have been, NO, should have been the child of God who planted a seed of hope. I pray I didn’t step to hard there, but the truth is HARD.

I am so looking forward to Chuck’s sermon series on Revelation as it rebukes our complacency and challenges us to look at our lives as God would have look. Our lives are a partnership with Jesus; our lives have a plan as shaped by Jesus; our lives have a purpose as given by Jesus; our lives have promise as told by Jesus; our lives are a passage of time with Jesus…all shown to us in the Book of Revelation. Who else loves you enough to share of himself wholly and without hesitation. NO ONE! Shouldn’t we do the same?   In closing, brother Leon opened us in prayer yesterday in a very powerful way. It is a new year and no matter what your circumstances were in 2018, take a step into this new year refreshed and re-energized by the love of Christ. Leave the bad behind but hold onto enough in which to learn; bring the good with you in which to grow and NEVER forget that all is for God’s Glory!   We will be meeting once again this coming Wednesday night; this week’s discussion will be on Chapter 6 of John Eldredge’s book Wild at Heart. Please hear me, if you have not joined us before, please consider doing so, NOT worrying about that we are in Chapter 6. This group of men meets most importantly for the fellowship. I/we would love to see you there. I pray you have a great week. Please be in continually prayer for brother Johnny as he returns to MUSC today…God do a mighty work in him, healing him completely.   I love y’all.   Trevor
