Men’s Monday Feb. 11, 2019

Life! It can certainly be a struggle. There is a lot to be learned from our struggles. I believe that God is in each and every one of them. He is also in those times that seem to NOT give us any issue, but we have a tendency to not need Him then. Big mistake! God is with us every second, every minute, every hour, every day…through good times and bad. Yesterday, through God’s Living Word, I showed us that no matter the circumstance, we can be ENCOURAGED. In the bad times, that encouragement may not be fully recognized until after whatever issue it is that you may be going through. But, if you are earnest in your prayers, speaking and listening, and serious about learning from your past, you will see God’s glory; when you do, use it to encourage others!   There is evil in this world. The Bible tells us so and it is affirmed by the actions of too many. But again, be ENCOURAGED. The battle is already won. “But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one.” (2 The 3:3) And since it is won, what are you going to do to stand for your God? What is the gift God has given you that you are not using? Or, are you using it but you are not engaging others or the Spirit to increase its effectiveness. “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Rom 8:31) I am not beating up on you…well maybe a little…but we are in a battle; a battle for the unsaved. A battle for those unborn souls; a battle for the lost; a battle for the choices others make that add to the moral decay of our communities. As stated above, the battle is already won, but we need to get to that point having produced. God is in control now let Him be in control!!!   Yesterday, I used my family as a way for you to get to know me and share God’s word. We are each at different points in our journey and it is my prayer that you will reflect on that journey and be ENCOURAGED in every single step that you have taken; the good steps and the bad. There was a song from years ago that Stacy had her little ones sing, “God Don’t Make No Junk.” I know, the grammar is atrocious but it relays a great point…In everything and I mean everything, God’s glory is included. And remember in closing yesterday, “And you will be hated by all for my name’s sake. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.” Use the idea of being hated to be encouraged to stand for Jesus and turn that hatred into a love for others and more importantly, for Jesus Christ!   Praise Jesus! It was great to have Leon back leading worship. Continue to prayer for him! Also, Glory be to God to have Matthew back in His house yesterday. My prayer for him is to continue to be encouraged…God is in control! And brother David Hurt. His dad has made a decision that will, over the next short period of time, bring his life to an end. Pray for David and the rest of his family!   This Wednesday nights discussion, maybe, will be on Chapter 7 of John Eldredge’s book Wild at Heart. I pray you have a great week.   I love y’all. Trevor
