Men’s Monday Dec. 24, 2018

What do you fear? From what are you afraid? Is it your boss? A choice you made years ago? A choice you must make tomorrow? Your children? “And the angel said to them, ‘Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.’” (Luke 2:10) So there you have it, stop fearing…stop being afraid, it is that easy, right? Oh, wow I pray it was, but stop and think for a moment, men, if we did what God told us to do…FEAR NOT. As Pastor Chuck stated, we do not need to be afraid when God is present. The reality is that there will be times that our situation will make us afraid, but the fear can be relieved by calling on Jesus! And how about this men? You CAN renew your faith. I realize is sounds clichéish but a new year is upon us which means resolutions. How is your relationship with Jesus? Is it Sunday only? Do you sense that it is not what God would have you be doing? Is there is sense of calling in your life that you are ignoring for whatever reason? You are saved but are you not active in the goals as set forth by God? Is your faith strong enough to handle what God and the world can and will throw at you? Is your trust in God…your confidence is God, well enough established to step out and show others what it means to trust? What can you do if it is not? Study His word, pray without ceasing, listen to what God is saying to you, looking past your own understanding and believing that all things are possible with God!   Chuck’s favorite, my favorite…YOU CAN RECEIVE YOUR FORGIVENESS! What bad choices did you make yesterday? Let it go! What about last week? Let it go! What did you do 5, 10, 20 years ago? Let it go. There is nothing that He does not already know, and He still loves you, so forgive yourself as He has already done so. And how about this…who has wronged you and you will not let go. LET IT GO! Giving forgiveness is a step of faith that shows God that you are not afraid of showing His Spirit to others, no matter the issue.   On this Christmas Eve, take some time…no, take a lot of time, and reflect on all that God has done for you, first and foremost the Son we are about to celebrate. But let us make a commitment to God, ourselves, our families, our friends and our community that we NOT forget to celebrate the exact same thing on Wednesday, Thursday, next week, next month…everyday this year. The birth of our Lord and Savior is something to celebrate every day, so let us do just that so that those who do not will see us celebrating Him every day and move into a relationship as well. How great would God’s creation be if we did just that. Glory to God in the highest.   Merry Christmas gentlemen! I love each one of you! May God’s Spirit flow through your heart and mind this season and more fully in the upcoming year so that we experience revival in this post-Christian culture in which we currently live. God is still in control, always has been, always will be, so His promise of hope has NOT gone anywhere. Know that! Live that! Show that!
