Men’s Monday Jan. 21, 2019

Our walk through Revelation, while in its infancy, has been, is and will be powerful. I will admit it is one of those books of the Bible that I have avoided for a variety of reasons and when Chuck stated that he was going to preach/teach on Revelation, I was excited. As we continued our journey yesterday, Chuck led us to three essential elements that personalize Jesus’ return. #1 The FACT of His return. The secular world would have us ignore this first and very important point. The Bible is God’s word, period! I say that to say this…you must accept Him to know Him and understand Him. It is a FACT that Jesus will return as that is what God’s word tells us: “Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him, and all tribes of the earth will wail on account of him. Even so. Amen.” (Rev 1:7) If you don’t believe, then this FACT will not mean much to you, but this FACT is to what all people should focus; not doing so places your life in eternal jeopardy!   #2 The FINALITY of His return. Again, from God’s word: “’I am the Alpha and the Omega,’” says the Lord God, ‘who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.’” (Rev 1:8) Brothers, let us summarize that…from A to Z and for ALL time, God knows all, He sees all and He controls all.   #3 The FORETASTE of His return. “I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet saying, ‘Write what you see in a book and send it to the seven churches…”” (Rev 1:10-11a) The beloved John heard it first hand and did what he was told. God’s word does not give us a date and time but it tells us to be ready for your life eternal relies upon it.   Who in your life does not believe God’s word? Or, who in your life has a believe in heaven and hell and maybe God, but He does not live in their heart? This is not meant to guilt you gentlemen, these are just the facts! Facts that we are commanded to live and share. So are you?   Heavenly Father, help us share our story! Help us show you through our actions! Help us raise up an army to defeat Satan! Father, give us the courage to walk in your army of Christian soldiers and be ready for battle when a moment presents itself. Time is short Father so give us a sense of urgency! We love you Father and it is in your Son’s name we pray, Amen!   David will be preparing the meal for Wednesday evening, so we will get started a little later than usual, so we can help setup, prepare and breakdown. This week’s discussion will be on Chapter 6 of John Eldredge’s book Wild at Heart (AGAIN). As always, please hear me, if you have not joined us before, please consider doing so, NOT worrying about that we are in Chapter 6 (still). This group of men meets most importantly for the fellowship. I/we would love to see you there. I pray you have a great week.   I love and appreciate each of you!   Trevor
